Storage problems solved for
Pilgrims Hospices

Pilgrims Hospices has a new specially fitted out warehouse thanks to Stour Valley Estates.

The new building is on the Stour Valley Business Park, Chartham, just behind Wyevale Garden Centre.

Retail Manager Eddie Bradley said they had a secure lock-up storage unit on the site when the one next door became empty. “We were at the stage where we needed more space as we had been retailing furniture for the past three years from our shops in Dymchurch, New Romney and Dover.

“We approached Stour Valley Estates and it undertook a complete refurbishment of the two units to bring them up to our specification so we could operate our warehouse. Everyone was very enthusiastic and committed with the plans being adapted as the project progressed to suit our needs,” said Eddie.

Now all the furniture that is donated to the Pilgrims Hospices is brought back to the new warehouse where there is room to display it for customers to see it clearly.

There is even a top floor dedicated to all the items being sold on eBay, another source of income for the charity which has to find £18,000 a day to run the Pilgrims Hospice based in London Road, Canterbury.

Stour Valley Estates is a family run business with more than 35 years of commercial experience in the East Kent area.

Managing Director Tony Skelton said: “Our reputation is built on understanding our customers’ needs and our work in providing this specially adapted warehouse for the Pilgrims Hospices was no different.

“We are delighted to have this warehouse on our business park and know that it will be an excellent source of income for an extremely worthwhile cause.”
