Stour Valley Estates

City's First Veggy Restaurant

You don’t have to be vegetarian to enjoy the food on offer at The Hutch, a new restaurant in Palace Street, Canterbury, which claims to be the City’s first fully licensed vegetarian eatery. The idea is to provide diners with the best locally sourced produce in an eclectic Mediterranean-based menu, offering great variety and choice.

This is the first restaurant that former business analyst Andrew Hutchinson has run, but he is excited about the venture and believes he has hit on a real unfulfilled niche market.

“As well as there being a growing vegetarian population, people today are taking a healthy look at food and trying to cut down on the amount of meat they eat, so I’m confident everyone will find something they will enjoy on our menu”, said Andrew.

“Stour Valley Estates has done a great job on an extensive refit of the restaurant, with lots of work done to the kitchen area and a general brightening up of the main dining area. As well as 30 covers inside our licence allows for 20 people seated outside. The Kings Mile is a great business community and a wonderful place to stop and watch the world go by as you eat.”

Tony Skelton, of Stour Valley Estates agrees, “We’ve a number of properties in the King’s Mile - a business centre with a really unique character, even within a City such as Canterbury, which is full of interesting and unusual places. We’re happy to give our support to new, exciting ventures such as The Hutch and we hope it really flourishes.”
